Of all the Indian States, Rajasthan is perhaps most characterised by colour; be it the saris, the turbans or even the walls of its cities, colour is a constant characteristic of this semi-desert region. It is a joy to meet and photograph its people and they are as friendly towards a photographer as Paul has encountered. Photography opportunities abound, both in the major cities of Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Udaipur and, perhaps more uniquely, in the more remote villages where the struggle in the parched landscape defines the lives of the people.
