Iceland - The South, 2020
A 7-night photography holiday lead by Paul Sansome in September 2020.
The route along the south has many great waterfalls including Gulfoss, Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss (below).
Paul considers the drive towards the Vatnajokul ice cap to be one of the finest in the world. The photographers highlight along this stretch of coastline is likely to be Jokulsarlon, a glacial lagoon where ice calves off a glacier and sits as icebergs in the lagoon. If we are lucky we will see some of the ice get washed up onto the black volcanic sand beach - as if diamonds on black - one of natures wonders.
We will explore up the SE coast, including surely one of the worlds most dramatic beaches at Stokksnes (below), overlooked by the Vesterhorn mountain.
The trip will end with some time to visit the capital, Reykjavik. There are some photography highlights here, including the concert hall, "Harpa", and the Hallgrimskirkja church.
