Hail Storm

"Even in the middle of summer you can, indeed you are likely to, encounter
some extreme weather conditions. Photographically, of course, this severe
hail storm provided some great opportunities. However, it also made the
roads very dangerous and a 4-wheel drive had overturned along this
stretch. If you do plan to drive in Iceland then many of the roads are
tarmacked but are raised above the flood/snow plains so they do require
concentration. "
